Batiki is an indigenous Greek grape variety grown in Thessalia, Greek Macedonia and Thraki. It is primarily made into white table wine and is commonly blended with Roditis, Savatiano and various members of the Muscat family.
Batiki carries low acid levels, which, along with its large berry size, have made it popular as a table grape. Low acid and alcohol mean that Batiki wine is typically mild, designed for early consumption, traditionally with grilled fish or light cheese.
