Krassato is a dark-skinned grape variety grown exclusively in Thessalia, Greece. It is used as a blending agent for the wines ofRapsani, in the foothills of Mt. Olympus. Along with Stavroto and Xynomavro, Krassato is a required ingredient of wines bearing the Rapsani appellation on their label. Even within its native Greece, Krassato is not widely grown and never appears as a varietal wine.
