Parparoussis Winery was founded in 1974 by Athanassios Parparoussis oenologist and his wife Vasso Parparoussi whose aim was the production of qualitative bottled wines.
Second generation entered the winery with Erifili Parparoussi, oenologist and viticulturist and Dimitra Parparoussi, Marketing Manager.
The winery is located at the family estate at Bozaitika, Patras, where the vinification, maturity, ageing and bottling takes place. New French oak barrels (Limousin, Alier) are used for the ageing and maturity. The majority of the wines are produced from the privately owned vineyards of 10 hectares (at Bozaitika, Patras and at Movri, Achaia).
The primary goal is to promote the Greek indigenous varieties which have great potential and unique character which permits them to be included in the world wine pallet.
Α lot of important awards were gained in International Wine Competitions.
The varieties that are used for winemaking in the winery include:
Roditis (V.Q.P.R.D. Patras), Agiorgitiko (Regional Wine of the Peloponnese, V.Q.P.R.D. Nemea Reserve), Muscat of Rio Patra (A.O.C. Rio Patra), Mavrodafni (A.O.C. Patra) Athiri (Regional wine of Achaia), Assirtiko (Regional wine of Achaia), Sideritis and Cabernet Sauvignon (Regional wine of Achaia) Mavrodafni (Regional wine of Achaia).
