Skylopnichtis grape

The red variety is from Greece . Synonyms are Kasteliotiko, Mavros Arcadia, Skylopnichtis Kokkino, Skylopnichtra and Skylopnihti. You may have come from the Ionian island of Zakynthos or the Peloponnese . In the opinion of Pierre Galet Pierre (born 1921) is no color mutation of the variety weißbeerigen Skylopnichtis Lefkos, but DNA has not yet been studied (as of 2013). The medium to late maturing grape is susceptible to botrytis and downy Mildew . It is grown in smaller quantities on Zakynthos and mainly used as a blending partner.
